It's a blessing!

My sweet husband bought me the Homestead Blessings pack of videos for Mother's Day and I love them! If you love homesteading and have the basic skills down, then these videos are great for you. My personal favorites so far are the Art of Gardening, the Art of Herbs and the Art of Bread Making. This is the first year that I designated a place in the garden for just herbs and the herb video was super encouraging!
I got an email this morning sharing that the entire series is on sale now! 10 videos for $99. The set includes the newest video, the Art of Quilting. My set did not include that video but I think I can pass on that one, I've got a couple quilts under my belt. *wink*

I'm not affiliated with this company at all but I just wanted to share the blessing that it has been to me and hope that it would be the same for you!

farmgirl boots

Lookie what followed me home from the feed store today!

How cute are these? And they were on clearance! This spring in the garden is going to be way cleaner (for my feet that is.) Walking out to the chicken coop in the rain is also going to be a lot more comfy and dry. I do have a pair of these muck boots in the regular knee high size from working at the ranch- these are lower though and much more garden friendly......not to mention, they're PINK! I will say that my black pair has held up extremely well and is super comfortable so these should do the same!

December's Quilt

December's Quilt of the Month is my Flower Boxes Quilt. Yep, I saved the best for last. The colors in this quilt are so terrific and the traditional patchwork is lovely. This quilt has really grown on me since I made it. I like everything that I make (well, almost) but I've really taken a liking to this one in the past couple of months! Here's the listing with all the information.

Today is also Giveaway Day on the Sew Mama Sew Blog.

I'm lame. Somehow I missed it so I didn't get to officially participate. I did get to enter a bunch of great giveaways though. If you'd like to also then you can click here. But missing out on doing a giveaway makes me a little sad so I'll be hosting one here next week! Follow my blog or just check back in next week to see what you can win!

While everyone is out shopping in the ridiculous wee hours of the morning tomorrow I'll be sleeping (or at least trying to sleep- the word "sleep" with a newborn in the house is pretty much non-existent) But if you're like me and you'd rather shop from the comfort of your home via Etsy then stop on by my shop this Friday and take your pick of ANY quilt in the shop. Purchase it and I'll give you 35% off of the quilt! (Refunded via PayPal) 35%?? Really? Yep. Just in time for the holidays and the cold days! Wrap up with a warm quilt!

peas and carrots anyone?

Um, guess what I just found?? Peas and Carrots yardage from American Jane for $3.99 a yard! Wholy guacamole! I can't believe my luck. I don't know exactly how much they have and hopefully I didn't just buy everything so that when you go to look it's all sold out. (No, really I didn't, there should be some left!) But here is the link just in case you're as much of an American Jane junkie as I am and you can't resist good fabric on clearance. :)

oh yummmmmmmmmmmmmm

Lookie what came today from our friendly UPS man.
Cute little boy fabrics.

Scrumptious reproduction fabrics.

Patterns!

The patterns actually came yesterday. I got them on sale from Fat Quarter Quilters- thanks Laurie! Now, that's a good thing and a really bad thing. See, the bad thing is that I've been eyeing that Rings of Diamonds pattern that Emily created for months now. Since I found it on sale, I gave into buying it. But that then lead to buying fabric for it. Here's the thing; I usually like to take patterns and then use my own choice of fabrics on them. But, Emily's choice of Moda's Cotton Blossoms is just too perfect. So I broke down and bought the fabric. Um, for 2 quilts. And for the brown and aqua quilt, I bought enough to turn it into a king size quilt instead of the 60"x60" quilt that the pattern allows. I did only buy the red and cream though for a lap size. I hope I like creating the quilt because I have now committed myself to making them. My humble quilting bank account won't let me forget it either!

And last but not least (well, actually it is least because I hate it.) Here's the Snippets Pinwheel Quilt.

I don't like how it went together at all. I'm not a perfectionist but I like for my quilts to be well made. I tried on this one. Really, I did. But me and pinwheels just don't get along. I just don't feel as though it is of the level it should be. As soon as it's quilted it will be in my shop for a "seconds quilt" price.

the quick destash

All right, I was going though my stash this afternoon and found some fabric that I'm just not going to use. So, I've listed it in my Etsy fabric shop and it is at a seriously "needs to be gone" price. If you get a chance, please check it out. Then buy it, make something beautiful and tell all your friends, "Can you belive I got the fabric to make this for next to nothing??!" :)

June's Quilt of the Month

June is finally here! So that means that a new quilt in the shop will be featured as quilt of the month. This month I have selected my People's Choice Quilt. I love the neutral colors of this quilt. I'm not personally a huge fan of bright and modern so this quilt suits me just fine!
The pattern for this quilt was chosen by about 45 different people. I polled folks on Etsy in the forums, asked family and friends to choose between 2 different layouts and this is the one that was chosen.
Remember that quilt of the month allows you to either take 20% off of the quilt or enjoy free shipping to anywhere in the world!

Quilt of the Month

I'm starting something new in my Etsy shop to start cleaning out my inventory of quilts. It's called, "Quilt of the Month." Each month I will pick out one quilt from my shop and will either discount the quilt 20% or offer free shipping worldwide on it. Your choice. So basically, which ever way saves you the most money! :) This month April, (starting today- even though it's really the last day of March) I will be featuring my Urban S quilt. A big fav among Etsians. Lots of views on this one, tons of hearts. Now's your chance to get it at a great price if it's been on your favorite list for a bit.

This quilt measures 86"x 86" and is $370.00. With your discount, it takes the quilt price down to $296.00; a savings of $74.00. If you're in the United States then the 20% is obviously the choice for you since I can mail this quilt for $13.00. (Thank you flat rate shipping!) If you're outside the US you can convo or email me for a shipping quote. A bed sized quilt to send overseas can cost upwards of $60.00!

All quilts in my shop are on sale, 20% off, through tomorrow (St. Patrick's Day) at mindnight PST. It's a great chance to save HUGE on your favorite quilt! Savings will be refunded through Paypal!

Oh, and one more thing- Happy Birthday Mom! I love you! ♥

Itty Bitty Preview

Here's a small preview of a quilt I am working on. I say "small" because you're only seeing 9 blocks and there are 49 total. All the blocks are complete now, they just need to be sewn together and borders added. It will be in my shop this February. For those who haven't seen my shop announcement, I will be closing up shop for a bit. I will be closing at the end of this month and opening up mid-February. It's a much needed break from sewing all the time. Of course, I am still going to sew- just at a slower pace! :)

This quilt is made up of the Urban Chicks 1974 collection from Moda.

I also have reduced some prices on a few quilts in my shop to make some room in our home. Take advantage of these low prices while they're still available! As a special for my blog readers, mention that you read this blog and I'll discount an additional 20% off of the already reduced price! What a great last minute Christmas gift!

And on a side note: 2 years ago today, at this time, I was starting to time my contractions!!

So here's the low down on what's new and up and coming in my shop!

First: This November 5th marks my 30th birthday! The big 3-0! To celebrate I’m going to be offering 2 things; the first is FREE SHIPPING on all orders placed by the end of November. The second, a fantastic gift to the customer that makes my 30th sale! That’s only 5 purchases away! There is one catch; the 30th sale MUST be made by November 30th, 2008. Boy, there are a lot of 30’s here! :) Happy Shopping- and winning!!!

Second: Here's a quick preview of a quilt, Hopscotch at Recess, that will soon be listed for sale in my shop! It is so stinkin' cute!

Preview x2

Here we go with two more previews!
The first is a whole-cloth quilt that will be listed in my shop by this weekend. The fabric is from the Cotton Blossoms Collection from Moda. This fabric was so beautiful that I just could not imagine actually cutting it up! The shot below is the top view of the quilt; the back is just as beautiful! I used one of the floral prints from the collection backed in a fabulous blue. You'll have to check it out in my shop next week to see it for yourself.

The second is just downright fun! Made from the It's Snowing! Collection from Moda. Great colors- fantastic for breaking slightly away from the traditional! I love it!

I'll be doing a different sort of sale after my Fall Sale ends. Here's how it will work; November 5th 2008 is my 30th birthday. (Yikes!) To celebrate it, I will be giving a HUGE prize to one lucky customer that turns my "sale" number to 30!! I'm only 5 sales away from 30 so feel free to stalk my shop! :) I'll have the details listed in my shop announcement after this weekend.
