About the Family

A little about me (a.k.a. Mountain Mama).......
I am blessed to be a wife and momma of (currently) 4 children. Our family lives off the grid on a five acre piece of land in the mountains of the PNW. I love the Lord, quilting, gardening, homeschooling and all things homesteading. I don't get enough sleep at night. I love all things 1800's -early 1900's. I can watch Pride and Prejudice over and over and never get tired of it. I also love wearing skirts and dresses, Moda fabric, cooking from scratch, and living a life different from most of the American population.

A little bit about the Mountain Man....
My husband is my best friend and the most wonderful man in the world. He is a wonderful leader, father, husband and provider for our family. He owns a tree service. He loves hunting, fishing, fruit trees and homesteading. Anything that he makes with his hands always turns out amazing.

A little bit about the mountain children....
My children are such a true blessing. I am thankful on a daily basis that the Lord has lent these four souls to my husband and I.

Our oldest boy loves Christian music and BMX. He can do some pretty amazing things on his bike! He's also a lover of reading.

Our middle boy is a geniune farm boy in training and takes after his daddy; loving fishing, hunting and all farm animals. He is also an amazing artist.

Our little girl is the sweetest little helper. She loves to clean, sew, and bake. She also loves being a momma to her baby dolls....and trying to keep up with 3 brothers!

Our littlest boy is a firecracker. He has a wonderful personality that makes us grin from ear to ear. He's a lover of all trucks and heavy equipment. And he tells us that he's a "cowboy" on a daily basis.

The Lord Jesus is my savior, creator, and heavenly Father.

Proverbs 31:10-31

A wife of noble character who can find?
She is worth far more than rubies.
Her husband has full confidence in her
and lacks nothing of value.
She brings him good, not harm,
all the days of her life.
She selects wool and flax
and works with eager hands.
She is like the merchant ships,
bringing her food from afar.
She gets up while it is still dark;
she provides food for her family
and portions for her servant girls.
She considers a field and buys it;
out of her earnings she plants a vineyard.
She sets about her work vigorously;
her arms are strong for her tasks.
She sees that her trading is profitable,
and her lamp does not go out at night.
In her hand she holds the distaff
and grasps the spindle with her fingers.
She opens her arms to the poor
and extends her hands to the needy.
When it snows, she has no fear for her household;
for all of them are clothed in scarlet.
She makes coverings for her bed;
she is clothed in fine linen and purple.
Her husband is respected at the city gate,
where he takes his seat among the elders of the land.
She makes linen garments and sells them,
and supplies the merchants with sashes.
She is clothed with strength and dignity;
she can laugh at the days to come.
She speaks with wisdom,
and faithful instruction is on her tongue.
She watches over the affairs of her household
and does not eat the bread of idleness.
Her children arise and call her blessed;
her husband also, and he praises her:
"Many women do noble things,
but you surpass them all."
Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting;
but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.
Give her the reward she has earned,
and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.
