June's Quilt of the Month

June is finally here! So that means that a new quilt in the shop will be featured as quilt of the month. This month I have selected my People's Choice Quilt. I love the neutral colors of this quilt. I'm not personally a huge fan of bright and modern so this quilt suits me just fine!
The pattern for this quilt was chosen by about 45 different people. I polled folks on Etsy in the forums, asked family and friends to choose between 2 different layouts and this is the one that was chosen.
Remember that quilt of the month allows you to either take 20% off of the quilt or enjoy free shipping to anywhere in the world!

  1. Oooh, it's so pretty!! So I still really want to know how to quilt. I look at fabric all the time but have no clue what I need!! HELP! I'm thinking about maybe coming over today for a little while.

  2. I'm sewing today so that is perfect. And when I say "i'm sewing today" that really means i AM sewing and my house is a complete disaster area due to the sewing :) lol

  3. One of the reasons I was drawn to your blog during the giveaway was because of your more traditional/old-fashioned colors and designs on your quilts.
I love this quilt on your post today. The colors and design are beautiful!
Have a great sewing day! I'm going to try and get some done today also.

  4. Very beautiful quilt! I like the design. Did you come up with it or is it available and does it have a name? Did I mention, I really like it?!

  5. Thanks for the compliments! I just came up with it. All I did was use 1 Moda Layer Cake from the Miss Jumps Scrap Bag collection then I took some tanish fabric and cut squares to make the corner triangles. I just took a size that I thought looked good for the squares. It originally was laid out in a sideways star pattern but when I started turning blocks, I found this pattern too. You can see a post on it from when I was trying to figure it out here: http://mountainhomequilts.blogspot.com/2008/10/opinions-are-like.html
If you have any more questions about it you can always email me, I'd be glad to chat with you! :)

  7. Great job Heather! And I agree with you about the just sewing day. My house turns into a disaster also as my kids have free reign of the house when I'm quilting!! I'm glad I'm not the only one! LOL!
