I added 1/2 tsp citric acid and a tsp. sea salt (because we like it) to each quart jar.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5677866446660565018.post-86536874240014641092010-08-29T22:13:43.435-07:002010-08-29T22:13:43.435-07:00while boiling add a spoon of sugar and a smal spoo...while boiling add a spoon of sugar and a smal spoon of sault- keep off the acidity of tomatoes-
greetings from an italian quilter
Luisa from Genoa- North-ItalyLuisahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15160403244794344315noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5677866446660565018.post-56237501546352593812010-08-24T16:49:19.750-07:002010-08-24T16:49:19.750-07:00One of my other blogger friends was talking about ...One of my other blogger friends was talking about the over-abundance of tomatoes :) :) :) I"m glad they seem to growing plentiful this season :) :) I do like puree!!!! Thanks for asking about that! :)
Erin,
Yes, I leave the seeds in. If you're using tomatoes like Romas which are much more meaty then there aren't as many seeds anyway. My plan was just to use the tomato base in the jar and then add whatever I had on hand at home when I made it....like garlic and herbs, etc.Mountain Home Quiltshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14307105463600660439noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5677866446660565018.post-39206209980614597942010-08-24T11:35:15.445-07:002010-08-24T11:35:15.445-07:00Do you happen to have a recipe for canning tomato ...Do you happen to have a recipe for canning tomato soup?
